Memorial for Alf Taylor and GMS Members Christmas party
To celebrate the life of one of our cherished members and friends, GMS will be holding a memorial in the Mirror Room on Sunday 17th December from 2pm until 4:30pm. This will then be followed by a casual Christmas party.
Members are invited to come and celebrate the silly season. This will be a BYO everything event, feel free to get together in groups, bring plates to share, join together to celebrate the year that was and chat about what the new year will bring.
We look forward to seeing you all there!

Vale Alf Taylor
Funeral for Alf will be held at the Gosford Uniting Church on Thursday November 2nd at 11am.
A true legend of GMS was the talented, creative and inspirational gentleman, Alf Taylor, who passed away on Saturday October 28th.
Alf was an exceptional stage performer who had carried out many duties for GMS including building stage properties, production management, Committee work and fatherly guidance.
A member for over 40 years, Alf began his GMS career in 1976 when he appeared in the whacky stage musical Li’l Abner as the “nasty” General Bullmoose.
Other stage characters included the hilarious Erroneous (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), slippery banker Babcock (Mame), gambler Nathan Detroit (Guys & Dolls), billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Annie), talented composer Arthur Sullivan (Tarantara, Tarantara), family man Jacob / enraged husband Potiphar (Joseph), flakey King Pellinore (Camelot), cranky Everett Baker (Crazy for You) and of course his greatest role ….. Tevye the Milkman in Fiddler on the Roof.
Condolences to his wonderful wife Noela, their children and grandchildren.
Alf’s positive attitude, charming nature and willingness to help everyone made him an absolute role model for all who knew him.
A truly outstanding human being.
Ben Poole will be running a design workshop for the members of Gosford Musical Society! Those wishing to take part in the workshop will be need to fill in the following link to express their interest.
Members will be taught how to use design software, as well as the GMS protocols in delivering a souvenir programme. Those wishing to partake in this workshop may be given the opportunity to design a GMS programme next year or some of our marketing material! The workshop will run across a series of weeks!
